Wilson Pastured Poultry raises free range broiler chickens. Our free range, pastured chickens are raised in the heart of Central Iowa by the Wilson family, on our family farm, located in Stuart, Iowa.
We are committed to sustainable agriculture.
Our broilers feed on what they find foraging during the day, with a supplement of grains and deep well water, with no protein supplements, no poultry or fish by-products, no pesticides or herbicides ever used. In addition, no antibiotics, no growth hormones.
The result is tender, juicy poultry with great flavor and 25% less fat content than standard, commercially raised chicken.

All of our chickens are raised outside in movable shelters or free range, with daily access to new grass and vegetation. This results in a firmer meat with a superior, more complex taste and a higher level of Omega 3 fatty acids compared to the confinement raised chickens that we find in our groceries.
Our broilers are not fed antibiotics, growth hormones (there are no hormones approved for use in meat chickens in this U.S.) or appetite stimulants. Arsenic is sometimes used in chicken food as a preservative and appetite stimulant (we do not use arsenic in our rations). There has been research into the use of arsenic in meat chickens that shows that arsenic can end up in the chicken meat in the chicken dung. See the following sites for more information:
